They called themselves "The Cobbers". Lots of fun,energy, and really good music. I loved the percussion instrument made from beer caps on wood. Being a poor college student at the time, I went halves with my roomie for a tape. Needless to say, after college, we've lost touch and I really would like to find their music to purchase. I do not know of any reissues. Bob Bolton (a Mudcatter who is very knowledgeable on Australian bush music) may well be able to give you some information and perhaps advise about current groups of similar style. If you become a member of Mudcat, you could send him a personal message. In any event, he will probably see this thread. The instrument you refer to is called a lagerphone. --Stewie. |

I'm afraid that I have no further information on the band.
