UK/Ireland Song/Artist Identification

Hi! About 2 months ago in a pub in Connemara or maybe Galway, I heard a song on the juke between band sets. The "hook" is "Loverly, Loverly". The beat is kinda/sorta like Kylie Minogue's Locomotion. Very danceable. I've e-mailed a couple of Irish Radio stations but no reply. Can anyone help me out with the title and artist? Thanks.

Hi Dogthief - No idea about a current version, but I found this link, which might be a starting point:

Loverly, Loverly

,which provides the following:

LOVELY LOVELY (Loverly Loverly) Chubby Checker

(Transcribed from above)

CC I met her in the morning she was
Group Loverly Loverly
CC Standing on the corner

Yikes! I wondered how the formatting would transport. Obviously, not at all well. The clicky above will take you to a somewhat more viewer-friendly page.

Thanks for the feedback, Bardford. I appreciate all the effort taken in sending me the info but the song I'm trying to identify was done by some British,Irish, Welsh or Aussie group based on their accents. I'm not real good on accents. "Loverly, loverly" is the hook or refrain and there's no guarantee that it's even part of the title.

BTW, had no idea that Ernest, the former chicken plucker, had even recorded a song with that title.
