He says that he was travelling home with a Pakistani he worked with and was saying that the war was getting quite bad and did he think he (a Muslim) would get dragged into it. He said no, not unless it got near his family's village. "Where's that?" asked my friend. "Ramsbottom" came the answer. (For those across the pond, Ramsbottom is a small town in Lancashire which people for some reason find amusing.) |
