Tune Req: You Ain't Goin' Nowhere (Bob Dylan)

Well, we went to a Stacy Earl/Mark Stuart concert, and one of the tunes they did was this. In fact, it was the only tune they hadn't written in the concert. Anyone have the dots? Don't quite remember it. Thanks all.

No dots, but I think I found an RA file. Check the links...Bob Dylan....... Lyrics in the DT, I think there is a sound file here.
Guitar chords here.

Ride so swift???

Huh???

Everytime I've ever heard, read or sung these lyrics, it's been...

"CLOUDS" so swift....

from The Untouchables...

"If you're worried about getting a rotten apple, don't get it from the barrel... get it off the tree."

The lyrics from Bobs official site

I really hope that HTML works... UBB code ROCKS!

That's right..."Clouds so swift, the rain won't lift..."

A kind of lightweight song for Dylan, but people like it cos it's really easy to play, and has a catchy chorus.

There are some alternate lyrics, and knowing Bob, he's probably done it about 150 different ways by now....words and music both.

Yeah Hawk....This one was always a favorite for exactly the reason you mention....people would sing along on the chorus, it's easy, and it can get raucous.

You can get a verse and the chorus on a sound clip over at Amazon on the Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 Album....How about that Gyps?

One of my favorite tunes. Are you looking for chords?

Hm. Don't know if it's in here but I've heard, "Ghengis Khan, and his brother Don, could not keep on keepin' on."

The chords are a variant three chorder, in D it's D-Em-G for instance. In G, G-Am-C.....in C, C-Dm-F, etc.

The way I heard it was, "Ghengis Khan, and his brother Don, could not keep from keepin' on."

"keep on keepin' on" appears in the song "Tangled Up In Blue"...a much more notable piece of work.

The Byrds recorded the best-known version of this on Sweetheart of the Rodeo, and took some liberties with the lyrics, some of which mildly pissed-off Dylan. McGuinn sings "pack up your money pick up your tent", and on the Dylan double-album Best Of collection, Dylan's version retorts "pick up your moneypack up your tent, McGuinn".
