Help: Irish Trad/Pop Bands in Massachusetts

Subject: Irish Trad/Pop Bands in Massachusetts
From: BleedingHeart

I've tried to search previous forums for this info, but the search mechanism seems to be down...

We are in need of a musical band to play at an upcoming event. Looking for a group with a good mix of rousing (though not shilleleigh) irish music and pop standards.

I'd welcome any recommendations from folks in the Massachusetts area who have heard of or belong to such a band.

Feel free to reply to me directly at: kate01581@yahoo.com

There's a great band that plays regularly at the Black Rose in Boston (near Quincy Market).

"Celtic Clan" - their leader's name is Frank Ryan.

Probably the main Irish Music contact in Boston is Larry Reynolds, President of the local branch of the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann. He is a fiddler and knows everybody and everything that's happening and would know about Irish music and language events. His number is 781/899-0911.

The Boston branch website is:http://www.comhaltasboston.org, or Click Here
