I say "may" because it comes up in the search engine for (note spelling) Edelman Uptown, and seems to have a lot of info, a chat forum, and other interesting bits. But at least in my 'puter a lot of the lettering comes out as gobbledegook (not all of it) and I couldn't download the relevant file to see if they gave any lyrics. Worth a try, though. It sounded a bit like Billy Joel because of the piano accompaniment and was a minor hit in the mid seventies, I believe. By putting this back to the top of the thread, we may attract the attention of somebody who knows more. I think Randy Edelmann composed other things as well, but my memory can be unreliable! |

I found this thread by trawling the net looking for the self same lyrics - and I can't find them - so if you've had any luck I'd appreciate knowing. As has been said higher up the thread it was written and performed by Randy Edelman and reached number 14 I think it was in the UK charts of 79. He went on to become a successful film score writer.
