The question doesn't seem to have merited an X-rated response. I had the catalog, saw that offending member--the guy was modeling boxer shorts, and wasn't brief enough to avoid detection. I remember that Sears tried to say that it was a spot of ink on the print. Ha! There have been quite a few instances when disgruntled employees will let things like this apparent accident go to print, or will place them there personally. One must assume that unless the model was also the photographer and layout person and proofreader, that it got past a number of people, intentionally or no. It was funny, and mostly, to quote Johnny Carson, just revealed the guy's shortcomings.

The problem I had with it, whether or not BOB meant it in this way, is that it comes across as being incredibly misogynistic. I understand that BOB is dealing with some problems that effect his ability to make good judgements about what to post. The way it looks to me is that when a person gets to that point, maybe it's time to take a break from posting until the ability to make good judgements returns. Both for his own sake, as well as for the sake of the forum. My understanding is that this is what he is doing. I think he has made a wise choice. |
