22 Jan 02 - 06:51 PM (#633386) Subject: Name of song/complete lyrics From: Laurab I'm looking for a particular song- sung by some Scottish folk group (can't remember which). I know a few bits of it: "He said: I've heard that tune before somewhere but I can't remember when, Was it on some other friendly shore, did I hear it on the wind?" and "He said: There's magic in the fiddler's arms, there's magic in this town, There's magic in the dancer's feet and the way they put them down." I often have trouble getting onto this site, so if any replies could be emailed to me at laura_black@start.com.au I would be grateful. Laura |

The site claims "The Ballad of St Anne's Reel" as an Irish song (!) and doesn't even credit Dave Mallett, who wrote it. I will email Laura a better link. Murray |

Murray- I'm not quite sure- I came across a tape I recorded from a CD some time back, simply labelled "Folk music of Scotland" and included music from several different groups. It's quite possible that North Sea Gas was on there. Laura |
