folk club

Apologies if this is not the correct thing for discussion, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put this.

We run a folk club in Princetown, Devon. Anyone around in this location interested, also we are trying to organise a day of folk here in April. This is Princetown, Dartmoor, Devon, England. Our folk evening is on a Thursday, once a month.

Please tell me if this is incorrect to discuss on this site.

If only more people would post information like this.

I spent two (glorious) weeks on holiday in Devon once and I couldn't find one single folk club in the whole county. That was in pre-internet days, of course.

Welcome, Nellie, I see you are a relative newcomer to Mudcat.

Amen to that, I often get stuck in some place, wondering if there's a folk club or summat to grab me fancy. Let us know closer to time about day of folk.

Jenny,

Nothing wrong with your post, but given that this is a world-wide forum you might have titled it better.

UK Devon: Folk Club

maybe

Welcome NELLIE, and yes, your posting is appropriate. Some other alternatives for you are to post events and such to What's Going On or to Festival Permathread Once again, welcome, and enjoy yourself here!

SINSULL is referring to the anguish we all feel when we submit a post and realise that despite our best efforts there is one massive typo remaining.

Now run along and play somewhere else, GUEST ....

Hey, Nellie, welcome to the sometimes madcap world of the Mudcat. Glad you posted.

Feel welcome in spite of the strange sounds and funny-looking creatures about. They're a temporary exhibit we are sponsoring on Cyber Nuts We Have Known....We are also running a short seminar on How to Tell the Difference.

Glad you're here.

A.

Welcome NELLIE

The information is most welcome and should certainly be added to the "What's on?" thread, including which regular Thursday in the month it is and the time.

I'll try and call by at the club next time I'm over your way from Belgium!

Murray's right...bear with our Clinton...he's a good bloke really!

Our folk club (sorry Clinton) is the fourth Thursday of every month at the Prince of Wales Pub in Princetown. Mainly traditional, but all are welcome, regardless. It is a sing-a-round club, no guest artists, anyone who wants to can join in. Its a lovely pub and atmosphere. Free admission, usually starts 8pm

Also for info Monday evenings at Hyde pub, Mutley Plain, Plymouth, another good venue.

No, Skipjack, I am not IN the clinki, very close though, can see it through the window.

Thanks to all of you for replies, interest and info.
