Singleton Cloggers Day of Dance and Folk

After last years Singleton Cloggers Day of Dance and Folk we are pleased to announce that this years day will be even bigger!

The Day of Dance and Folk will take place on Saturday 15th June 2002, in Poulton-le-Fylde (nr Blackpool) Lancashire, England

Planned events and details so far.......

11.00am onwards Morris and traditional dancing in Poulton Sq. with Singleton Cloggers, Fiddle and Feet plus other dance teams (to be confirmed)

11.00am - 6.00pm Open Mic Session (PA Available) in The Old Town hall pub, Poulton Sq. Hosts: Penny Black and Friends - everyone Welcome.

11.00am - 5.00pm Craft Fair - Music, Instruments, crafts etc.. (some stalls still available)

7.30pm til closing time. Evening Concert with Brian Osborne and Guests (to be confirmed)(p>

ALL THE EVENTS ARE FREE ADMISSION.

An open invitation is given to everyone and any Mudcatters wishing to attend will be more than welcome - If a stall at the Craft fair would be of use to sell T-Shirts, Badges etc... one would be provided FREE of charge just contact me and I'll arrange it

Please support this new(ish) event, now in its third year to help us keep the traditions of Folk Dance and Music alive and in the public's eye and most of all come along and enjoy yourselves!

Add the the list of Artists "Scuttlebugs" Irish tunes and instrumentals - 3 piece band - Guitar, Mandolin (family) and Fiddle.

Wow, a fellow Sandgrownun! Fancy meeting someone else from the Fylde here of all places - how you doing? Glad to see there'll be some Irish music, shall tell my parents, they're sure to come down for a listen :-)

Sure am..... Born on the beach - near enough you can't get more sand grown than that!!

Played along side Scuttlebugs last night at the Halfway house - Blackpool they'll be there on the 15th June with Kevin Whelan - the mad fiddler, Phive Phingers Phil on mandolin etc, and Dave on vocals and guitar..

I'm sure you'll remember Brian Osborne from the Taverners? he'll be there and in the main evening concert it's looking good

I have just been informed by Brian Osborne's family that he'd drowned yesterday whilst fishing - we his friends are in great shock and send or condolences to his family - I will start another thread with details as they become available.
