14 Mar 98 - 01:13 PM (#23770) Subject: I NEED NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Art Thieme Howdy good people, I'm in need of some GOOD NAMES FOR THE TITLE OF A CD I'm striving to put out. It'll be made up of concert tracks spanning the last 3 decades! Any ideas you might come up with would sure be appreciated. Thanks, Art Folks have told me there's no way I can redeem my "good name" at this late date, but I might as well try. |
14 Mar 98 - 01:29 PM (#23771) Subject: RE: NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Joe Offer Hi, Art - I suppose "Art's Art" and "Thieme's Themes" have already worn out their welcome at the Thieme household, huh? Well, you could do worse. Somebody introduced me as "Joe Awful," this week. Last week, I got a marriage proposal from a real estate lady - she thought she could make good use of my surname in her business. So, anyhow, how about something nice like "Reminiscences"? Let us know as soon as the CD comes out - I wanna be the first kid on my block to have one. -Joe Offer- |

14 Mar 98 - 05:59 PM (#23787) Subject: RE: NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Alice Art, I think you should call it "Why White Men Can't See Clearly". That title would really jump out and get noticed! Another appropriate one on your list as a title for the CD is the last one, "A Handful O Songs". I haven't had time to really think about this. I'll be back later, though. this IS fun for me. alice |
14 Mar 98 - 06:20 PM (#23789) Subject: RE: NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Helen Art, The only name for a CD that I've been thinking about (for quite a while) probably doesn't relate to your CD much, but I think it would be fun, is: Hip Hoperation, i.e. a cross between the modern/popular dance music Hip Hop, and Hip Operation, i.e. a life experience of the older generation. On another note, I have had a thread going this week, without a lot of luck so far, about a tune called The Water Kelpie, which goes *really* well with the tune The Great Silkie of Sule Skerry. I can't find the lyrics, but if you are interested in the tune I can type it into a midi format and either send you a midi file or learn how to do Alan of Australia's MidiTxt programme. They really sound good together and the stories are similar about animals transforming into human form, and the sad tale of of each one's human lover. Helen |

I've just been hanging out at a place where PEOPLE TURN INTO ANIMALS ALL THE TIME !! I was at the corner bar ! Later--------Art A fellow at the bar just recently crossed a sheep with a porcupine. I don't know what he got from that, but it does knit it's own sweaters. |
15 Mar 98 - 12:22 AM (#23820) Subject: RE: NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Alex Art, see, I told you the Mudcat folks would get into this! In an Email, you mentioned that some of the older analog tapes had to be baked to copy them to DAT. So, depending on the percentage of material processed this way, (or even if you care about being statistically accurate), how about "Art Thieme - Half Baked" through "Art Thieme - Completely Baked" or "Art Thieme - Baked to a Turn". |

16 Mar 98 - 05:35 PM (#23916) Subject: RE: NAMES FOR A NEW CD !!! From: Art Thieme The last name, Thieme, is pronouncer "theme". We were thinking of naming our son "English"! I'm so tired of turntables, tape decks, VCR's and CD players wearing out (and the newer they are the faster they wear out) I could tear out my hair. You oughtta be able to get a few hundred megabytes of sequentially accessed pre-programmed memory into a solid-state device the size of a credit card, I would think. That's all it would take. Now for the name of the CD: how about "Eclectic Art"? |
