I am trying to find the lyrics and the name of a female folk singer who sings a tune which may be called "Our Town". The lyrics go something like: "Can't you see the sun going down? On our town, on our town" Sorry I don't have any more to go on. Hopefully someone will recognise this tune. Thanks in advance. |

The last part of the chorus runs something like: "Can't you see the sun sinking fast, just like I said nothing good ever lasts, can't you see the sun's goin' down on our town, on our town". Most of what she does is just terrific - simple and homespun but with a lovely quality. She seems to have come from a strongly religious background but it doesn't appear to have done much damage.
