14 Feb 02 - 11:25 PM (#650577) Subject: Am I SOL with a Mac? From: technission I just visited Paltalk site and they say it doesn't support Mac - does anybody hanging here know if it will work on a "PowerMac", which is also sometimes called a "PowerPC" ?? It still uses Mac OS and SCSI bus though. Any insight will be appreciated, thanks michael |

15 Feb 02 - 12:08 AM (#650608) Subject: RE: BS: Paltalk Open at 8:15 PM 2/14 From: Jon Freeman technisson, they only support PCs running Windows software. I think you would have to look at PC emulation software and I don't know that there is any guarantee that would work. Jon |

I have written to a Mac expert and gotten the reply that for her, emulation software did work to sign up for an "do" PalTalk. I am waiting for her OK to post, verbatim, what she did and what she said. I will make a new thread for it when I get that, so BOLO. ~Susan |

15 Feb 02 - 12:08 PM (#650885) Subject: RE: BS: Paltalk Open at 8:15 PM 2/14 From: Jon Freeman Norton/ Steve has been opening his Mudcat Song Circle room on Sundays, starting about 1pm EST. It seems to go on till about 8 or 8pm EST. I'm not sure what the situation is with the Snug now. It did open on a Thursday night for the UK (maybe it did last night but I didn't notice). As a rough guide, I'd guess in EST we would be talking 4pm to 8pm. Even if there is no "Mudcat" room open, there are often Mudcatters to be found in Paltalk - just look for the live rooms. dwditty, Margaret V, IvanB, Norton, Frank(toledo), Jacko (scalliwag) and me (squiggle) are amongst the more regular visitors.
