11 Mar 02 - 03:10 PM (#667113) Subject: DIXIE CANNONBALL: Recordings? From: Fortunato I have the chords and lyrics and a distant memory of the melody of this song, but I'd like to get a good recording. Any ideas? Also the song was BMI but is no longer listed, and Harry Fox has multiple listings so I assume it's public domain? Finally, the writers appear to be Red Foley, Vaughn Horton (is this Johnny's relative?) and Gene Autrey. Does anyone have a date for the first recording of this song? Was it Autrey's? Thanks!
