So the poor oul dogs existed on any scraps that were available and that old stand-by the Bone staved off the beasts hunger. He stopped me when I was walking home with my sister and my friend and wanted me to kiss him. I refused - politely - mainly because he was just someone I had never thought of (and could never think of) as a potential boyfriend. When he realised that "No" really meant "No" he leaned over and picked up a piece of white doggy doo near his feet and rubbed it on my mouth. A really good pick-up tactic! Not! Gullible appears in Webster's Collegiate and also in the OED (spelling gullable preferred but both given). First appeared in print in 1818 according to both.
