Who I'd never heard of at the time. |

22 Apr 02 - 03:13 PM (#695815) Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: Jerry Rasmussen There's a fine album (now out on CD) that has Reverend Gary Davis on one side, and Pink Anderson on the other.. Pink Anderson goes back to traveling medicine show days. Jerry |

27 May 08 - 02:59 PM (#2350321) Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: Joe Offer Hi, Wesley- I just downloaded four terrific Pink Anderson albums from emusic.com. You can also download them at Amazon. The three-disc set from Fantasy Records is especially good, and includes most of the songs that are on the Folkways album (but you may want to download the Folkways notes for free from from Smithsonian Global Sound). This is wonderful music. It surprises me that it's not available on CD (Fantasy may have done better to fill one CD completely, rather than to have three CD that are half-full). Still, it's nice to have the recordings available by download. I have an annual subscription at emusic.com, so I get recordings for about 20 cents a song. No album notes except for the Folkways albums, but it's a wonderful thing. -Joe- |
