Help: Good Sing Along Tunes for Party

Hi Guys,
I've been asked to hold a 'Sing Along' for my Aunt's Anniversary Party.
She would like 'uplifting tunes'
I thought of playing 'Margaritaville' and 'Country Road'.
Any suggestions?
Is there other threads you could link me to on this same topic.
I would greatly appreciated the help.

Major thanks!
Little Neo

BONNIE!! You're alive!! How old is your aunt, when did they marry, etc? Surely we can come up with a few....

Two good threads come to mind-- current one, ATHEIST HYMNAL, and another older one, in the last year I would say, about nursing home songs.

Could be she'd love some gospel songs too, in which case see the African American Spirituals permathread to look in the list of indexed songs for a thread on gospel songs in jams.

avoid the "Death of Queen Jane" - that's for sure.
comic songs are a good sauce (sic).

Yes I'm alive Sorcha. Life is being generously kind to me these days.
Thanks for the suggestions Susan, I'll take a look.

Thanks 53, thats a good one.

Midchuck you got to be joking! When they see me droole, it won't be from 'banjo zombie', it will be from falling asleep in the middle of my playing while waiting for the song to be over.

You guys got any other suggestions out there?

Was there ever a thread on campfire songs????
I tried to look it up but only found boyscout songs.

If your audience is up to it, Give Yourself to Love, a lovely Kate Wolf song, will surely put everyone in a very mellow mood....
