This week on WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS I will be honored with two guests live in the studio - Mudcatter Debra Cowan and Carol Ponder. I'm hoping that most of you know Debra. If not, you should. An outstanding voice with a powerful respect and understanding of traditional music. She has recorded a wonderful solo album and also appears on the Folk-Legacy release "Songs and Ballads of HATTIE MAE TYLER CARGILL". Those of you in the Tennessee area might be familiar with Carol Ponder. The rest of you will soon be. Her roots are deep in Southern Appalachia and has spread to encompass other styles. She has recorded two extraordinary albums of accapella singing and her ballad singing will stir your soul. I am very excited about this weeks program and I hope you can join us. Debra and Carol have not met, but I'm hoping that we might be able to have them work out a song together. This will be fun! Join us this Sunday - July 21 on WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS.
