Of course, it was posted there by our own Gene Graham. Somebody will come up with your song soon, Patrick, but I couldn't resist providing a link to the other song. -Joe Offer- |

I'm sure that I recently got words for a Jimmie Rodgers song from a GREAT site, but I can't find it any more. Anyone have the lyrics for Gambling Barroom Blues? I believe that it was recorded by (amongst others) the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. I'd be very grateful if anyone can point me in the correct direction. Cheers Steven |

GAMBLING BARROOM BLUES
Ho, ho, hey, hey,
I went down to the corner, just to meet my gal,
I kept drinking gin an' liquor 'til way up in the night.
Hey, hee, hey, ho,
I went down to see my baby and met her on the way.
We both drink lots of liquor, that flat-footed cop and I.
I laid my head in the bar room door; I'll never get drunk any more. |
