Help: Looking for CarolC

From: Celtic Soul

Yeah, I know...this may seem very weird, but I was wondering if anyone here had heard from my sister, CarolC, of late. As she has considerable health challenges, no one in the family has heard from her recently, and she does not appear to have been around here for awhile, I thought I'd ask. So, if anyone has heard from her of late, please let me know.

Oops!!!!

Sorry CS! I've been so busy building my website, I'm afraid I've neglected my PMs and my Mudcatting. But I have been here. To see my latest posts, you can click on my name.

Thanks for checking on me!

She has been here and put one of her prints up in the auction this week I think. Let us know when you track her down.

Thanks Sinsull.

And no worries, Carol. I know what it's like to feel so crappy you can't move. Just wanted to make sure you were alright. Glad to hear that the reason we haven't seen much fo you is for something like the fun of building a website.

*BG*

Well, the good part about building a website is you don't have to move much.

;-)

(Actually, I was feeling pretty rough last week, but I'm feeling much better this week. Thanks again.)

And make sure you are better in time for The Getaway, m'dear. I am in serious need of one of those huge hugs packaged in that wee body..............hahahahaha. Sure hope you can make it!

Wow, Mick. Thanks for thinking about me! Getting a bear hug from a giant ain't too shabby, either *BG*

It sure would be nice to see all of the fine folks at the Getaway again this year. I'll do my best.

I'm please to hear that Carol C. is ok. She once said that Fat B****rd was a great name. That small item made me feel welcome when I had only just joined these hallowed pages. Cheers Carol.

Whenever CarolC is absent for a while, I figure she has runnoft to join a Polka Circus somewhere. But she always comes back to Mudcat weirdality.

Sorry you aren't feeling so well and we want to see the website!

As the lithe trapese artist practices her static poses, the Mahogany haired beauty plays circus music on her piano accordion. The music is soothing flowing from note to note with feeling and passion. Do I detect a hint of irony?

khandu, you found me out! Now how am I going to cover for myself when I just can't resist the pull of the Polka Circus? Nobody's ever going to believe an excuse as lame as "building a website" now that you've exposed the truth!

Here's the website (cliquetez ici) in case you want to see it.

(But just between you and me, it was the fairies who built it at night while I was sleeping. I only had to leave out a really nice bit of imported goat cheese and a couple of really good Greek olives, and when I woke, it was all done.)

Monsieur Jack le Marin, une si belle chose à dire. Oui, je vous crois peux entendre une peu d'ironie dans la musique.

Love the site, Cags. How about some Wav files of you on the squeezer, or keybord you hold in your hand and squash it9, as it is known here locally? We'll get to jam someday! Dang but you're purty.

Mais naturellement, Monsieur Jack le marin, les fées ne mangent jamais "du fromage américain de Kraft". Vous devez leur laisser seulement le fromage de chèvre importé le plus fin et les plus bonnes olives importées.

Thanks Wotcha. If I ever find myself in the area on the correct evening, I will definitely have to do that.

Wow, Skipjack, thanks! I don't know how to do the Wav file thingie, but if I ever find out, I'll certainly have to consider doing that.

Carol - borrow a good mic from someone, and get a convertor to convert between the patch cord and the line-in to your soundcard. (Check the soundcard's got a line-in first.) Then go to www.goldwave.com, set it up, and play away.

Then convert to mp3 at 128-320 kbps VBR with any one of several programs, and upload.

Fun and easy. Well... mostly fun and sort-of easy. ;)

Thanks for the tips, hesperis!

How kind of you to notice, gnu ;-)

I appreciate the effort Van Lingle. On the other hand, what could be more folkie than a trapeze artist playing an accordion?

;-)

Thanks Mick!

AND the wildlife prints are being auctioned off even as we speak type!

The first print of the FOX closed over the weekend - currently the MOUSE is up for bid. Next is the RACCOON - and last will be the SQUIRREL. (alphabetically, y'know?)

So, were you sitting in the waiting room or waiting in the sitting room?

Couldn't really tell, actually. All I could see was the Wall of Science against which we were all up, feeling like a bunch of Bozos on a bus. I think.

CarolC, glad to see (hear?)you're "OK". I always appreciate your thoughtful, passionate, fair and reasoned responses to topics--though as a somewhat cynical scarred veteran of life (of 60 years) I don't always agree with you.
I've always been able to sense people's moods and nuances of meaning from the sound of their voices---but your writing is so clear and meaningful, that I feel the same way about YOUR writing.
Good to hear from you.

Well, Rich, I find myself somewhat speechless at the moment (if you can imagine that). That is one of the finest compliments a person can receive, and I appreciate it very much.
