Lyr Req: God Must Be a Cowboy at Heart (Dan Seals)

From: Biskit

Somebody help me out here. The title may be wrong but the chorus goes;

I think God must be a Cowboy at heart
he made wide open spaces from the start,
he made grass, and trees, and mountains and a horse to be a friend,
and trails to lead old cowboys home again.

all I can remember is the chorus and it's really drivin' me buggy. I need the rest of this song...ARRRRGH! ~B~

Is it this one, pardner? in a cowgirl mood myself tonight

GOD MUST BE A COWBOY AT HEART
(Dan Seals)

Campfire coffee from a tin cup in my hand
Sure warms the fingers when it's cold.
Playing an ol' guitar, a friend I understand,
It sure smoothes the wrinkles in my soul.

Sleeping in the moonlight, a blanket for a bed,
It leaves a peaceful feelin' in my mind.
Wakin' up in the morning with an eagle overhead
Makes me long to fly away before my time.

CHORUS: And I think God must be a cowboy at heart,
'Cause He made wide-open spaces from the start.
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again.

The nightlife in big cities is all right for a while.
It sure makes you feel good when you're there;
But the country's so pretty, it goes on and on for miles
And it takes away my troubles and my cares. CHORUS

Thanks to Harpgirl I was able to put a name to the song, then I went to Google, typed in Dan Seals, and got several web sites dedicated to him. there you can download sound bites (free) or entire songs (mp3)for a price. The song is wonderful, and with my Living in Arizona and all it just fits right in with my surroundings (and my mind set) perfectly. thanks again harpgirl you made my day ~Biskit~

Kinda like a gopher in a prairie hole at dinner time! peace and love harpgirl

Chris LeDoux has the best version of this song. Chris was a cowboy who had lived the words to that song.

Listen to Dan's acoustic version on Dan Seals "In a Quiet Room II".

A beautiful song, a fabulous album (along with volume I)

I only wish I had got to see him before he passed.

A great loss to music.
