Sorry to barge in, but I had to tell someone - my daughter's just got three As and has now secured her place at Camrbidge. And I'm chuffed to little mint balls. Bless 'er!

Yeah, well done Gervase's daughter. I got C in my AS Russian, D for A Level English and German and E for AS Critical Thinking. Critical Thinking wasn't too bad bearing in mind I only had about 4 real lessons!

Well I'll barge in, too, then! Brother and fellow Mudcatter FreeReed's daughter, Free4Reeder, has just landed three straight As and a B! She's the mean fiddler that Bill and Eric met at Whittlesford.

The trouble is that that high score gets her well over the walls into Durham, so we won't have her in Leeds for our sessions. I'll make sure we grab her when passing for the odd session, though.

Well done Free4Reeder!

.. and for those who didn't do as well as they'd hoped, try not to take it too seriously. At school I was was one of the great under-achievers and every A level grade I got was below that predicted, but I still got my degree (admittedly a 2i when everyone was predicting a first, but there you go!)

Although I don't know you massive congratulations on your results FC. Have a fab celebration. I remember that time and it wasn't that long ago. Pretty scary!

For anyone that didn't do so well I was never too good at academic work and didn't do that well. But I've landed a great job so there's hope for everyone!

I too got my A Level results today I got ABBD (Geology, Physics, General Studies, Maths) and a C in AS Computing.

Although I didn't get the grades for my offer I'm still going to Castle College Durham to read Geology. However, I can't write more as I'm off on a pub crawl!!!!!!

Congratulations to everyone else and hope you all get the Uni's you want too.

My heart goes out to those poor scholars who miss out, put yourself in the position of the unfortunate 6% who lose out. Life for to-days youngsters is a pressure cooker, I left school over 50 years ago at the ripe old age of 14 and didn`t have to worry about exams. I headed off at 17 to England and entered the University of life,so to all those unlucky losers, hold your head up and don`t despair, I am still around and enjoying life, without an A B OR C.
