To then hear our national anthem offered up with that choir and attenedees was just such deeply touching gesture that I just couldn't let it go by without expressing sincere appreciation for the U.K.'s open and unreserved solidarity. It's a part of my V-tape library forever and will be revisited atleast every 9/11 if just for the healing of that sublime music. Just wanted to let the U.K. know that their expression of healing has touched these shores alondg with not a few hearts and spirits and was greatly appreciated. Well done. |

But , for those here whom may have seen this event , this was just meant as a general shout-out to those whom may have shared in this unique *musical* healing experience on either side of "the pond". So sorry if it ain't folk music *pure* enough for some, but it be music with a purpose just the same .

C-Span commonly makes VHS copies ( no PAL standard ) of it's programming available for purchase. I'll post the URL for those genuinely interested in adding this to their collection for 9/11 remembrances. It even stands on it s own just as a magnificient concert in one of the most beautifully grand concert halls in the world. |

Seriously though, what else could the City of London have done? The trading links between the US and the UK are immensely strong, many people from the UK died in the attack and many Americans were in the City (some in our own offices) watching the news come in and fearing for colleagues. The links had to be reaffirmed and the service was a public way of doing it |

Agreed, but the more "realpolitique" of the moment you keenly cite still can not diminish the grace and healing of the moment and it was appreciated nonetheless . I was just glad that I could share in it from Dulles, Virginia and wondered whom else had or would like to have but fifn't know it was broadcast. That and to give another little "well done" for C-span for being the only place to see this in the U.S. in its entirely without some squawking head offering unasked for commentary.

Fully dressed fire crews stood for two minutes silence. In another post you mentioned a documentary you saw about the members of a New York Fire Station filmed on September 11th, 2001. I saw the same and was both moved and incredibly impressed with it.
