an apology from Art T

Subject: an apology from Art T
From: Art Thieme

This morning I want/need to apologize for some of the late-night posts I've made when fatigue I believe clouds my ability to self-censor myself. I have clicked from the hip and spewed into cyberspace unthought out and incomplete mind belches that may have hurt some good people and I am very sorry for that.

To mem'ry now I can't recall
I hope your're all my friends as yet
Good night and joy be with you all"

Pardon, I can only understand Plain English and not this slang rubbish.

No apologies necessary on my part, Art. You're a good friend and will remain so.

As far as the fatigue, I haven't personally noticed it, but recently because of changing sleep patterns (and MAYBE) MS (no, not me in denial) I've also experienced a need for rest in the afternoon. At least I have an excuse for my words/actions/inactions/etc. ;-)

Art T, I was altogether unaware of yer purported offenses; but I think maybe I know how you feel, having sometimes been a Late-Night Purportrater m'self, and an ill-informed one at that. Your atonement is to be commended; & I hope it may be ecumenically accepted as Yom Kippur impends, by any who might feel you have hurt them. Thank you sir.

Spot on, greg stephens. To take a lyrical liberty, "Oh all the hours that e'er I spent, I spent them in good company; and all the harm that e'er I done, I hope it was to none but me."

And when I'm done with wandering
I'll sit beside the road and weep
For all the songs I did not sing
And promises I did not keep.

Well I don't know what else you may have said, but your late nite post on the 'comparitive religion quiz' thread was simply amazing. You're a wise man, night or day.

harpgirl & Jim Krause, the Brits get censored by the Yankmicks, 'cause we understand both their deep-seated dialects & their quaint neuroses. :)

(Baghdad man-in-the-street, to CNN: "Who else agrees with the Americans, except the silly British and their leader?" There, I rest my case. :)

Er, was that reference to Rabbi Guido deliberate, or did you mean Father Guido? I thought of his papal fashion show skit when NPR went on and on over the design of new papal vestments for the pope's special Youth Mass in Toronto.

The Judy B. Goodenough poem fragment was tagged on to Parting Glass. I don't want to niggle, but they are separate works.

MAG - Um, Yes it was deliberate. Lame; but meant as Ecumenical for a thread that seemed appropriate around the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). We all ignore the commandments of the same Deity, sez I. / It's from old SNL, Father Sarducci's commentary on (I think) the price-list re Indulgences for various sins. Masterbation was a quarter. A pop. So to speak.

And er um uh, Yes I know that "The Parting Glass" and "Journey's End" are 2 separate pieces. Didn't mean to conflate 'em. I just like 'em both & thought they both fit, though in different ways. / --Pook
