I'm going to be in the Elgin/Forres/Inverness area over Saturday and Sunday (28/29 September). Can anyone suggest any sessions that might be running on either the Saturday or Sunday, around that area? All suggestions welcomed. I'm looking to participate rather than spectate... From: Drumshanty I've just been told about a new place called Hootananny in Inverness whose advertising promises live music, possibly sessions, every night. And as for Elgin? Well, it is my home town and I love it dearly but all I can say is that if you're into line dancing you should be fine! There is a newish place somewhere outside Elgin called The Loft that sometimes has folk music. Colcannon played there in the summer.

From: Murray MacLeod The Loft is just outside Forres, and is really difficult to find, being in the middle of nowhere.. But they don't have participatory sessions there. It is a great venue, however and the acts who play there are invariably top quality. Murray |
