A great new CD called "High Lonesome Cowboy" - it's a duet recording by Don Edwards and Peter Rowan - it also includes Tony Rice and Norman Blake. It's a bluegrass cowboy mix. { Cowgrass ?? }

Bluegrass. My Rocky River Home by Tony and Gary Williamson.
These days I cycle among three CDs: the one I'm listening to right now- there are a number of songs on it that I'm learning-; a live recording of Northern River, 5 bluegrass guys from Fairbanks and Anchorage that I hear live whenever I can, usually 3 or 4 times a year; and JustaPicker.

Folks, you just gotta hear that man. It's true that that the CD is mostly non-vocal but it's wonderful. The picking is intricate, authoritative, true and consistent. I bought two copies with the idea that I'd give the one away, but to this point I have one copy on two different storys of this house and listen to it wherever I am. And Joanne Shaw, whoever she is, who does the two vocal cuts on the CD- Don't Think Twice, That's Alright and Anytime has a lovely voice, backed up with JP's picking and playing.

And it's for a good cause: MUDCAT. Send him a PM- you won't be sorry. :)

an old radio station that's gone back to playing classic rock and roll. It's CHUM am. I'd listen to a folk station if there *was* one.

I know one thing though, when it gets near the holidays I'll dig out that old Pete Seeger album of Christmas Carols. I've had it since I was a kid.

A bunch of stuff I downloaded from other Peer-to-peer file sharers... like the Songcatcher soundtrack (What a dissapointment that was... I'm so glad I didn't unpocket for that one!) Some old John Prine, some new Todd Snider, some Stepehn Fearing... Some "They Might Be Giants" just to name a few...

Howdy bflat-
I thought the call letters were WFUV- Fordham University- "City Folk" is a wonderful program. (mebbe I'm wrong) Excellent station- I was proud to support it when I lived in NYC. I miss it very much & catch it via streaming audio @ home (GF's house, anyway) when I can.
Right now I'm listening to coworkers hammering keyboards & making breakfast arrangements... no music in the office, sadly.
They Might Be Giants are actually Giants. High-concept, High-Geek-factor, but they are amazing.

Aaah,Roger, that explains it ... nice one, must try it...as an aside, have you ever tried listening to Charlie Gillet show from radio london which I also think is archived on the web ?

me myself, I have just been listening to the soundtrack of the filim (as we up in the north east say) of 'BIG BAD LOVE' followed by a sampler from 'fat possum' with T Model Ford singing 'I'm insane' taken from the glorious titled 'Pee Wee get my gun' cd.

Blues as it should be.

Okay, what I hear is a sort of low level humming sound. Every now and then there are some other little sounds, like a tiny machine working. And there are these repeated clicking sounds, after which letters appear as if by magic on the screen in front of me. It just happened again! Wow....

This is just SOOO cool! Neato. If only Winona was here...in her Bram Stoker's Dracula outfit.

There it is again!

I am listening to the master of the Orchid Mudcat CD, which had a couple of tweaks due to permissions and is now in final form.

I dunno -- I think it's good -- I mean, I dunno, but _I_ really, really like it. Like...really a lot, y'know???
