Comet Cursor is a quick change cursor gizmo with over 4000 images you can use for a cursor instead of the theme stuff or the "boring arrow." I found out about it over at the Weimaraner site I frequent and I now have a Weimie Cursor. Wife Karen tells me her lab even uses the things for seasonal stuff....they are just kinda' cute and the download hasn't taken over anything yet, so I'm having fun! Michael loves all the Pokemon stuff and there are a couple of guitars, fiddle, and harp, along with some other musical stuff like clefs and things. If you want to give it a try it's The Comet Cursor Website. Spaw |

05 Nov 02 - 07:31 PM (#819470) Subject: RE: BS: Fun Cursors (Comet Cursor) From: NicoleC Bear in mind that Comet Cursor got caught collecting data without their user's permissions. While the company insists they are only collecting info on cursors and not personal info (and by all reports, that's true), it wasn't exactly nice of the company to do so without notifying users. My personal beef is that folks all over my office with win95 and Win98 have installed the program -- or rather, it installs itself if you aren't careful, particularly with the older version of RealPlayer -- and their machines tend to be plaqued by mysterious crashes and system resource lockups. I can't say for sure it's Comet Cursor, because I do a thorough cleaning when there's a problem found with a machine, but it does seem to be the common denominator. So if your computer starts mysteriously acting up after installing it... |

08 Nov 02 - 11:23 AM (#821496) Subject: RE: BS: Fun Cursors (Comet Cursor) From: Mark Clark Check out the Spywareinfo Web site, home of the spyware weekly. They also have forums to discuss spyware—including Comet—and get help identifying and removing the stuff. WebAttack.com is another site and one where you can download the Ad-Aware program to purge your system of spyware including Comet. You can also obtain the free Ad-Aware program from it's home site at The Lavasoft Corp. Ad-Aware will let you clean your PC free of charge. They also have a commercial product that runs in the background and keeps your computer from being infected in the first place. Make no mistake, Comet is an infection. - Mark |
