Lyr Req: Emma (Jonathan Edwards)

Hi Folk-Folks,

Found pieces of these lyrics lying around on dusty shelves in my tired, middle-aged brain; but I can't quite put it all together. It's from Jonathan Edwards' self-titled 1971(?) release. Chords are pretty straight-forward.

Here's what I have so far:

EMMA

The first time I saw Emma
She ?____? above me in a dream (?)
Da, da, da, da, da-da-da (?)
And off we flew it seemed
Like an airplane
Moving up and down
Through the country town
Passing over the city so slow, slowly

Emma comes to see me
About eight o'clock each night
And she throws her arms around me
And off we go in flight
Like an airplane
Moving up and down
Through the country town
Passing over the city so slow, slowly

BRIDGE: But Emma's made, Emma's made for night
And I can't wait
My dinner's served by half past eight
And I can't wait, can't wait for night

The last time I saw Emma
She made me love her till I died
And we ?____? ?_____? fields ?_______?
Searching open sky
For an airplane
Moving up and down
Through the country town
Passing over the city so slow, slowly

BRIDGE/END

*******

That album has been re-released as a CD. You can hear a 30-second sound sample at Barnes&Noble. I listened, but I couldn't find any lyrics to add to what you have already posted.

EMMA

The first time I saw Emma
She was above me in a dream
And she throwed her arms around me
And off we flew it seems

Like an airplane movin' up and down
Through the county town
Passin' o'er the city so slow
Slowly

Well, Emma comes to see me
About eight o'clock each night
And she throws her arms around me
And off we go in flight

Like an airplane movin' up and down
Through the county town
Passin' o'er the city so slow
Slowly

But Emma's late
Emma's late, > Oh, and I, I can't wait
My dinner's served by
Half past eight
And I can't wait
I can't wait till night

The last time I saw my Emma
She made me love her till I die
And we walked through clouds together
Searchin' open skies

For an airplane movin' up and down
Through the county town
Passin' o'er the city so slow
Slowly

But Emma's late
Emma's late, Emma's late
And I, I can't wait
My dinner's served by
Half past eight
And I can't wait
I can't wait till night
No, no, no, no

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I pulled this out last weekend thinking I'd do the pieces of it I knew for a gig, and then just put it away again.

Thanks!!

Hi, there are only three main chords:
G, C(Gbass) and the same C chord played up two frets to make an unusual DMaj chord.

The bridge is
B Emma's late. Emma's late...but
Em I, I can't wait......
B My dinner's served by....and
C I, I can't wait, I can't wait until
G Night....
