Frank of Toledo runs some, but they all seem to be during the workday on the East Coast. What happened to the Thursday/Sunday sessions? Is anyone interested in New Years Eve or New Years Day?? I'm not sure I know how to open the room - mudcat snug? or other. When do people want to do this? |

From: Liz the Squeak I used to open the Sunday sessions at 7.00ish pm GMT, but got sick of waiting for 2 hours for folks to show up, despite giving notice and posting threads. I've been ill, busy and away for a while so not done it.. No-one has mentioned it or PM'd me about it so I just assumed people were no longer interested. LTS |

I check periodically but no one is there except a lot of Gospel/Bluegrass types who sing along to records and CDs, usually flat. |

From: Susan of DT So far we seem to be 1) split between Tuesday and Wednesday 2) mostly in the mudcat time zone (eastern US) which will make scheduling easier, but the Brits may not have seen this yet, except for Liz. Will someone PLEASE tell me how to open a room? If we do this tonite, when do people want to start? To include the Brits, we need to start early. |

Open the groups page and chose the "Open or join a group as admin" from the admin menu. Select the group owner from the list and supply the "admin code". It's just as easy to form your own group. Just use the other admin optiom on the menu and fill in the details on the web page. |

We are split between tonite and tomorrow, so we might try both and see what happens. Are any Brits going to join in? Is New Years celebrated much in the UK? I'll keep checking this thread today and tomorrow and will tentatively open a room at 7PM mudcat (eastern) time tonight and 2 pm tomorrow unless I hear interest for another time. I'll probably open a new room and call it something like "Mudcat Folk" with the usual password of DT. Remember to enable adult groups - that way no one can object if a song gets bawdy. |

Well if I thought "New Year", I'd first think of Scotland which I guess is part of the UK ;-) New Year is celebrated all over the UK but in some parts the greed of pubs has killed off some of the enjoyment, at least for me. I've got a choice of places tonight for free but I do find it sickening that some places have taken to adopting a charge on the door policy: "I've given you custom at least once a week and tonight you want to charge me (say) £10 for the priveledge of spending more money at your establishment" does not add up to me but there seems to be plenty willing to pay. |

Guest - in the states, people mostly go to parties at friend's houses. There are also some big, formal, expensive parties in hotels and restaurants.
