What!, no more PTH Threads?

Well I must say if its any more than a New Year ellapse in Punch The Horse Threads, I am dissappointed.

Out here in Vietnam- not the darkest jungles, but the capital (Hanoi) I miss your jovial exchanges of abuse, recent news, self-promotion, and all the other stuff. No-else in Beverley is in regular contact, so try to start one every now and then for me- i'd rather read it than stuff about George Bush anyway.

Chris

Hey Chris, pop into the Mudchat sometime (you'll have to reset your cookie to be allowed in, and even then there's no guarantee you won't be kicked out!) and you'll catch up on the adventures of Oaklet and co.

Usually a good few in about midnight/1am GMT, though that's probably some silly time (7, 8am?) where you are.

Looing forward to a chat sometime. Happy New Year!

Chris,

The reason for some of the lack of PTH threads in recent weeks is, I think, cos of the advent of the Chatroom. This gives yet further scope for the ramblings of brother Oaklet and "like minded people" and is turning out to be great fun. Get yourself in there but bring your swiming trunks if you are feeling shy!! Shelbacks in a Jacuzzi!! Its sureal!!!!!

Hi, Oakley. Happy New Year. I meant the Monday folk club, which Chris came to regularly when he was at Bishop Burton College, but I'm sure he'll add The Sun sessions when he gets back from Vietnam.

Well, good to hear you are all out there, and Beverley has not been hit by a disaster of plague proportions!

I was sitting in a bar in Hanoi with an uncanny proportion of bearded western men- I don't mean the wild west. It felt strangely like a number of folk clubs or festivals i've been to. Talking of festivals when is the Bev. Festival planned for this year?

I might try and join this Mudcat chat although 'resetting my cookie' sounds a bit technical, I always have to email from Internet Cafe's which I think may complicate the situation.

Folk Festival, Beverley. 19th – 22nd June 2003
This year's festival looks likely to be a winner; consultations still ongoing about the Official FF and free Fringe events, and more pub involvement than ever. Don't miss it. When are you due back in the UK?

Hi Chris, and best wishes to you for the New Year in Hanoi.

You need to be careful asking for more PTH threads - like in the old story, you may regret it when your wishes are granted!

I once had a Folkways LP of traditional musics from Vietnam, which was lovely. Have you found anything of interest during your stay?

The Beverley Festival website is here, and it does look interesting.
