Have recently discovered David Mallett's music - wonderful. I'm looking for a souce for chords/tab/lyrics for his music and am not finding a lot out there. Would appreciate any help.

Also, I'm trying to help to find a venue in the Portland Oregon area next September - if anyone has any ideas for a small theatre, please let me know.

Thanks

A friend of mine, Mike Marner, is a huge Mallet fan. Drop him an e-mail (tell him I thought you would know the answers to your questions) and he'll know if anything is available.

I don't know a lot of Mallet's stuff, but my favorite is I knew this place.

Dave Mallett is the best working songwriter there is for my wife and me. We love the man and his songs. Lane, you're lucky to have just found him, all those great songs waiting to enter your life! Dave was my last great discovery about eight years ago, I've heard no one comparable since. Wish I could.

Agreed, Harvey - I'm loving the man's music. Great discovery.

Open mike - It's all tentative, but he MAY perform in Southern Oregon and Toledo in September around the 12th. Also, if we can find a venue, in the Portland area about the same time.

He used to come over to our house to visit my dad and I had a HUGE crush on him. Problem was I was very young (5-6 years old) and Dave swore a lot so I wasn't allowed to stick around very long :-(

Funny. I just spoke with a woman who asked if I knew a song called "Inch By Inch". When I told her the song was called the Garden Song and that Dave Mallet performed locally she was almost in tears. It is something she falls back on when all seems hopeless.
I will pick up the CD for her this week.

I have seen Dave perform - intense! I am surprised he swore a lot. Things you learn on the 'Cat.

Becca - I thought you had a crush on Gordon Bok???? Fickle, eh?

No, Sins...my 2 sisters had a crush on Gordon Bok. I went for the "bad boy" image of Dave Mallett. LOL

Mallet is indeed a fine feller and a great songwriter!

He doesn't seem as high strung as he used to be.

As with a lot of songwriters, I generally only remember the first few recordings that he did. I should make an effort to listen to what he is doing now.

Cheerily,

I've known Dave for over 30 years and I thought I was familiar with everything he did. However, I was wrong. He recently released a new CD titled THE FABLE TRUE, Stories from the Maine Woods by Henry David Thoreau.
David is an excellent narrator, and of course his musical work in the back ground is perfect.

If you want to share this top quality work, it can be had from NORTH ROAD RECORDS in Sebec Maine.

His web site is: davidmallett.com

Sounds like he's improved a bit over the last 250 years.
