Subject: Lyr Add: Why Sack Iraq?
From: Mrrzy
WHY SACK IRAQ?Dedicated to all fellow Stop This War demonstrators and to peaceniks in general To the tune of, and patterned after, Rock On Rockall (blicky forthcoming) Chorus Why sack Iraq? They'll never crack, in Dubya's holy war For he'll meet the worst resistance he's never seen before For now they've got technology they didn't have before So THINK! You politicians! Don't start the third world war! O an empire is beginning, with foreign lands to seize And the greedy eyes of Dubya are turning from the seas In the middle of a desert, there's a place that's called Iraq That the groping hands of Washington are reaching to attack Other Chorus Don't sack Iraq or they'll fight back – that's no way to end war For we've all got technology that's not been used before Stop calling difference evil, try sharing wealth some more So THINK! You politicians! Don't start the third world war! In some parts of Arabia, it's written in folklore That America's the devil, and the cause of why you're poor So fight with all your might and main, and kill and maim and gore And after death you men get bloody virgins by the score! Chorus So let's not just be silent as we walk the streets in black Because in wooden boxes we don't want our children back Our sons and now our daughters all have better things to do Than march off to the desert just to make the folklore true! Other Chorus Small kiddies on the playground wrestle, tussle, fuss, and more "He was gonna hit me is what I hit him back first for!" But if it is acceptable to hit back as you say Then how can a preemptive strike be how to stop the fray?!? Chorus So listen to the marchers demonstrating everywhere And all civilized people act like grownups and play fair You should have learned in preschool all you need to know in life Like vive la différence, and to prefer to avoid strife Other Chorus Although it's mostly Dubya's war, the whole world's in it too Or will be when those wind-borne toxins start to breeze on through Who wants to live in interesting times when species change? I'd rather wait for asteroids to hit some mountain range! Chorus So voters living everywhere all need to be involved And try to sway their governments to get this soon resolved Before this rolling snowball quashes all dissent and thought All countries have extremists who into this nonsense bought! Other Chorus Now doctors (without borders) are setting up for strife But countries (with'm) can't agree to plan for loss of life Alliances are fracturing, old grievances relapse Across lines with no reality except on ancient maps Chorus Don't wait for intervention from your gods, whichever's right But work for peace with as much will as others work to fight It's time to change the focus to the big "us" from the small And be humanitarian, not territorial! Other Chorus
