Some of the Sing Out! publications have Carter songs, but not this particular song (except that the words and chords are in Rise Up Singing). Already having bought books 1 - 4 in 1972, I bought this one from Stainer & Bell's web site last year. S & B are very keen to stop Sydney's songs appearing publicly - claiming this protects his rights ... but they are pursuing a totally false claim over the tune to Lord of the Dance, which Sydney openly admits he borrowed! I think it better for Sydney that his songs are freely aavailable and so are not recorded as "trad." or "anon." ... but Sydney is not able to defend his free attitude to the songs any more. If you want the dots, PM me and I'll send an image of them - given in "G" in the book. (You could buy the book ... but you'll need your reading glasses for the words ... I don't even know if it's still in print, let alone whether the general public would be able to track it down, but it does have the tune in question, along with quite a few others of a similar bent. |
