If more than 5 people want to order it, I'll order it through Camsco and sell it for the $12 + that it would cost me.

Dear Dick,

I was waiting for this one. Didn't know the timetable, or when, or which direction it'd be coming from, but knowing Scott, it will be a probing look at ALL SIDES of this thing we now call "folk". Viewing it from Boston, where the scenes (plural) are so neon, vibrant, healthy and interactive, we're in for an enlightening treat.

Sounds interesting Dick and I'll get one. However, by folk world do yu mean just American folk world or does it go wider?

As Mr Andrews said is this only American or does the rest of the world get a mention as well?? If us this side of the pond are included I might even buy one myself.Though as a banjo player I might
have to get someone to read it to me.

Put me on the list as well. It looks as though it is a collection of his newspaper articles, but I haven't read them, so they'll still be new to me. This looks be better than other attempts at showing at least a piece of the history of the US folk scene. Dang! I bet he didn't put in the story about the Civil War monument. hehehe

My "chapter" in this book was the first published story Scott wrote I think. Once again, I was around at the inception o' something. The trouble with being an old fart; soon ya get blown away...

Mine got here in fine shape. It's a great looking book as well as being good insight into some people I've only heard about---modern folkies who I'm going to strive to hear in the not too distant future. Robert Corwin's photos are used beautifully too. They are enhanced by the overall layout and design. And the design --- the way it's put together is thoughtful and artistic in a way that really frames and showcases the artists highlighted in these articles. Scott Alarik can be proud of this book. ----- And remember, Scott Alarik is the man who brought out that little-known chapter of American history-----the saga of the advent and the demise of the freshwater whaling industry on the great lakes---mainly Lake Superior. But that's a whole other thread...
