24 Apr 03 - 01:32 AM (#939022) Subject: Tune Req: Hanging on the old barbed wire- tune req From: ooh-aah It's ANZAC day in Australia tomorrow, and there will be much singing of that brilliant, moving song 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda'. The only war song (as opposed to poem) that I know of which has equal sadness, bite and sense of the horror of war is 'Hanging on the Old Barbed Wire' - but I don't know the tune. Is it posted on the web somewhere, or are the lyrics sung to a well-known tune that I might know? Thanks. |

"His (something )goes marching on." Glory, Glory, Hallelujah? |
