Saturday 10 May 20:00 The Archive Hour Across The Divide Two gentle giants of folk music, both in their late 80s, British born Bob Copper and American protest singer, Pete Seeger come together and ruminate on the similarities and the differences in their lives. Folk music and family are fundamental to them both, though their cultural backgrounds are very different. We hear them in conversation in a specially extended version of an earlier programme recorded in New York and in performance, and talk to their families about the tradition of folk music that both men have promoted and which their children and grandchildren are handing on to future generations. The show is - THE ARCHIVE HOUR 8.00pm UK Time (3pm Mudcat Time) Saturday 10 May 2003. They appear to have the previous weeks programme online, but I don't know if the archive permanently, or if you just have a week to listen before it gets wiped. Quack! GtD. |
