10 May 03 - 05:14 PM (#950124) Subject: Sunny Memories From: GUEST,Andrew Can anyone help with the words for Bill Caddick's Sunny Memories ? I can't find it on the database although there is a thread on Tipperary, another brilliant Bill Caddick song I sang in my distant past, not to mention Gibson Girl which I still remember. I still have fond memories of hearing it from Magic Lantern and miraculously can still cope with it on the guitar. The words would however be helpful and all I have is the first lines to the verses ! Thanks Andrew |

12 May 03 - 06:23 AM (#950885) Subject: RE: Sunny Memories From: Dave Bryant I can remember "Magic Lantern" performing the whole revue of which "Sunny Memories" was the title song, which of course also included "Gibson Girl" and "The Writing of Tipperary" plus many other songs. |

12 May 03 - 10:36 AM (#951003) Subject: RE: Sunny Memories From: Watson Kitty - no Custard Creams, nor Ron O'Dreams, nor any other variants from the very inventive and persistant Len Basker. In spite of that it's a wonderful double CD. I think there is "work in progress" on a song book. |

I will rely on my memory for the words of Sunny Menories in the meantime, unless someone can point me to them elsewhere. Thanks Andrew |

12 May 03 - 02:28 PM (#951177) Subject: RE: Sunny Memories From: Herga Kitty Ralphie When Bill followed up John O'Dreams at Herga by singing "Custard Creams" he asked, "Why am I doing this???" I think it was so that George Clarke (Zorg not Tyke) could collect it off him. We're never sure now, when he starts the song, whether George is going to sing Bill's song or Les's. Kitty PS Thanks for the words to the revised Manchester Rambler. |
