Hey, folks,
Here ya go.   This is by Bob Hamilton Camp and Bob Gibson 1964

Stella got a new dress just today.
Everywhere she goes, the people say:
"Who is that walkin' down the street?
Pretty little girl so lovely and petite,
With a brand now way to wear her hair,
And a brand new bright new dress to wear?
Who could imagine a sight so fair,
As Stella in her pretty new dress?"

Stella got a new dress, don't ya know.
Everybody turns to watch her go.
All dressed up she looks so sweet,
Pretty new shoes on her pretty little feet.
The very first time she passed my way,
Stella stole my heart away.
Who could forget that lovely day,
When Stella got a pretty new dress?

Stella got a new dress just today,
Everywhere she goes the people say:
"Who is that walkin' down the street?
Pretty little girl so lovely and petite,
With a brand new way to wear her hair,
And a brand new, bright new dress to wear.
Who could imagine a sight so fair,
As Stella in her pretty new dress?"

Who could imagine a sight so fair,
As Stella in her pretty new dress?

-------as sung by BOB GIBSON

Uh, no, I don't think so, Guest. I still have the vinyl album of Gibson songing it. Besides, wouldn't Art Thieme know?

If memory serves, this was also done by Glenn Yarbrough, either on a Limeliters album or on one of his own - (circa mid-sixties?).

Stella's got a brand new dress just today,
Everywhere she goes the people say,
Who's that walkin' down the street,
Pretty little girl so dainty and petite,
With a brand now way to wear her hair,
And a brand new bright new dress to wear,
Who could imagine a sight so fair,
As Stella in her pretty new dress.

Stella's got a new dress don't ya know,
Everybody turns to watch her go,
All dressed up she looks so sweet,
Pretty new shoes on her pretty little feet,
And the very first time she passed my way,
Stella stole my heart away,
Who could imagine that lovely day,
When Stella got a pretty new dress.

Stella's feeling happy
Stella's feeling happy
Dressed up like a princess
Dressed up like a princess

I'm so lucky she's so fine
Lovely little Stella and Stella is mine
And the very first time she passed my way
Stella stole my heart away,
Who could imagine that lovely day,
When Stella got a pretty new dress

Yes, the Smothers Brothers first LP was their "Two Sides": one side of the LP was the comic stuff like Pat Paulsen's "Chocolate," and the other side had, what to call it, serious MOR like "Stella's Got A New Dress", "Apples Peaches and Cherries"...
