I am looking for a book of Burns songs, with music and lyrics. I would like one with fairly large pages, and ideally one that contains Westlin Winds. Any recommendations?

Hi, Edmund - see if this Amazon link and this one work for you. I was just looking at a flyer from Sing Out! Legacy Books. They have volume 2 of The Robert Burns Song Book, by Serge Hovey, 240 pages, published 2001 (Mel Bay), $29.95. I don't see volume 1 on the Sing Out! list, but maybe they have it.
I don't know anything about the book. The Sing Out! blurb says it's a "Huge collection of songs and tunes from the Scottish bard and composer, with notes, introductions, and more."
I haven't had good luck buying books from Sing Out. I bought $400 worth of books and CD, and they dumped them in a box and stuffed some paper in with them. Several of the CD cases were cracked, and several paperback book covers damaged. Most of the books were dusty or gritty. They said they've been working to improve their service. I hope so.

Burns: Poems and Songs (Oxford University Press, 1969), edited James Kinsley, includes the airs too. "Song, composed in August" ("Now Westlin Winds") is on pp. 2-3.

The Kinsley book Masato cites is the best of its kind available, and likely to remain so for a long time to come. It omits the scholarly commentary of the Oxford English Texts edition on which it is based, but would likely provide everything you might want and more; apart from the fact that page dimensions are 127 x 195 mm. Accurate, clearly laid out and printed, however, and very comprehensive.
