Just wondering if there are any Mudcatters lurking in Warsaw and up for a shanty sing?

Cheers,

Brian

Just spent a great weekend in Warsaw. Didn't have time to search for venues in earnest but learned that the inland locals do appreciate the odd chantey. Wandered down to the local park where locals gather at a small outdoor restaurant (where beer and a Kielbasa or Golonka will cost you maybe $5 tops). Broke out into song with some of my mates, and the reaction was very favorable ("Bravo" from the restaurant owner).

Along the Vistula River there is a mile of outdoor bars with different themes -- at one of these, a duet were singing what were undoubtedly songs of the sea in Polish [the pirate symbol didn't really do them justice] but regret didn't have time to hear more).

Highly reccommend Warsaw for its history, Old Town district, and local folks love of music (you'll find street buskers and accordian everywhere, even wandering off the street into your local restaurant/pub). I cannot recommend its airport (although Tokyo is probably worse ...).
