BS: Campaign song for Howard Dean

Hello all,

I usually lurk on the Cat, but I have something I want to post. I am not sure if this is appropriate to post on the regular music section or not, so I am erring on the side of caution and posting this on the BS side, where I have seen other political posts. I am a Vermonter and really excited about Gov. Dean's candidacy. In fact I have not been so motivated since 1968 when I went door to door for Gene McCarthy. Anyway, since the Governor is running as an old-style Democrat, I decided that he needs an old-style Democrat campaign song. I can think of no finer tune to use than the old Joe Hill, I.W.W. song 'The Preacher and the Slave, or Pie in the Sky.' What do you think? I have written three verses, and hope there will be others written. Here it is:

Hi, Mike T, I'm with you. Go Dean.

There is a thread on the Dean blog with some campaign lyrics that people have written, including "One" from A Chorus Line.

I'm working on the campaign. If Dean is elected, he will owe his presidency to a gang of brownie bakers, bloggers, and other ordinary joes (and Jeans.) instead of big money and special interests. You have to like that idea.
