BS: Speed cameras scam

As you know, many of the speed cameras on the roads are now digital and
record details instantly. A "friend" of mine tells me that Traffic Cars
in the Met area are now fitted with a computer which enables the
policeman to check to see if the motorist he has stopped has fallen foul
of any speed traps in his area. This helps him to decide whether or not
to issue a ticket in cases where he has discretion. Apparently the
information is no longer restricted, which is how this info can be
passed on. If you copy the following website and paste it to your
browser you can access the same info from the DVLA and by entering your
car number you can check to see if your car has been caught on a speed
camera.

It's nice to know that the old E98a "Sit up and Beg" Ford Popular which I took to the breakers in about 1963 is still on the road and was doing 67mph recently - I could never get it above 55 !

Hey, I typed in the registration No of my double-decker bus, the one I usually drive round the Medway Towns, Kent.
Apparently some bastard must have nicked it four days ago, while I was on an hours break, and got nabbed by the dreaded camera in the West Midlands doing 67mph in a 30 zone, before bringing it back to our yard 30 mins later!!!!
I cant git more'n 50 out of the old bucket, so I wanna meet this bloke!

Well, this is really interesting. According to the website,4 days ago I was doing 41.3 mph in a 30 mph zone outside the Copthorne Hotel in Birmingham.

They won't show my picture,however.

Of course it also shows that on the same day I was driving my Dodge Colt through Middlesbrough at 81.2 in 70 mph zone. Now how do I explain all this in court when I go to pay the fine for the ticket I DID get yesterday. 80mph in a 65 mph zone on 4th of July Pass.

I typed in the rego number of my awful flatmate and found he was in Birmingham, and my ex is in Cambridge. I only wish they were, then they wouldn't be bothering me here in Sydney, Australia.

rr, you simply explain to the court that you couldn't have been speeding in 4th of July Pass because you were busy speeding the UK and can prove it.

Simple. And you can use the same excuse if they bring you to court in the UK.

This has wonderful possibilities:

"So you couldn't have chopped up your mother-in-law because you were speeding through Burton-Upon-Trent? Case dismissed!"
