Lyr Req: Chime Bells (yodeling song)

I've got to get the complete words to a yodeling song...chimebells, to sing at my next jam. I know parts of it, "Chimebells are ringing (yodel), Mocking birds are singing (yodel)...etc., but only a verse or two. I'd like not only the words, but it would be nice to hear the song again, too... it's been years! I've heard it done by Elton Britt, but I believe it was a classic done by a number of performers.. Any Help? Thanks....

"Keep on the Sunny Side!'.... Gary

Recordings of "Chime Bells" by Dick Flood, Elton Britt, Kenny Roberts, Roland Bolduc, and Slim Whitman are at The Record Lady's All-Time Country Favorites. The follwoing is the Britt version.

         CHIME BELLS

    Chime bells are ringing
    Mockingbirds are singing
    Sleep, little lovebird
    Up on a summer's eve

Out on the mountains so happy and free
There lives a maid, she's waiting for me
Out on the lake, we'll drift with the tide
And hear those chime bells ring

Moonbeams were shining as I kissed her there
Nightbirds were singing, perfume filled the air
Each little star just twinkled with glee
While heaven smiled on me

Elton Britt is famous for that loooooooooooooooong hold at the end in this song....totally amazing what he does with the yodeling part!

Absolutely!... Seems to me that Elton Britt was classed as the best yodeler ever, about 30-40 years ago. I had a record of his that was lent out but never returned. That's where I heard the song for the first time. Thanks for sending me the words, though I believe there are other versions that have more verses... Anybody else know of more words? Also, it would be great to HEAR the song again, too!   Anybody know where I might do that?... Take care & "Keep on the sunny side!" ...Gary

Gary...did you try at the link Masato posted? several versions there, including Britt!

it require javascripts to be working & enabled on your computer, as it opens a little 'viewer' window to get directly to the songs...

here's an up-to=date URL for Elton Britt singing Chime Bells. I see what was meant by the last note!

http://video.google.com/videosearch?hl=en&as_epq=Chime+Bells+&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&lr=&as_filetype=&as_sitesearch=&as_qdr=all&as_rights=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images&q=%22Chime+Bells+%22&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title#

It doesn't work, just google Chime Bells on the exact wording line. (Advanced Search page)

I do have to ask what lake they think has a tide in it.
