Shores family musicians, black pioneers-Nebraska

Gleaned from the same book I mentioned in this thread is a slight mention about the "Negro" Shores family, who built a successful farm on the Nebraska frontier and later became well known as musicians.

I am wondering if any of you have heard of this family or have any info. It would be interesting to know more about them and their music.

Thanks,

kat

Well, some teacher has been doing their homework! I just found a good bit of info on them. Click on the "analyse the photo of the Shores family" link on this page and there are names and location listed.

Off to go look for more to do with their music.
