Yorkshire Relish?

Other than buying some old LP from someplace across the ocean--that I can't play anyway, being turntableless--is there anywhere to get some music by Yorkshire Relish?

I suggest you ask John and Judy Dalton at Little Pot Stove Records. They seem to be able to get most things.

The "Yorkshire Relish" albums were released by Bill Leader, so unfortunately they now belong to the infamous Dave Bulmer (Celtic Music of Harrogate), and are unlikely to see the light of day again, so I'm afraid it looks like vinyl if you can get it. The Daltons are a good bet; apart from being a good source generally, they must know the Elliotts from way back.

Yorkshire Relish actually recorded a new CD last year & this is available from Dorothy Elliot in Whitby.
You   could also try via a link with Chris \parkinson as he is on the CD as well.

The CD mentioned by guest 04.45 is called Ship to Shore & is under the names Derek & Dorothy Elliott with Chris Parkinson.

Sorry, don't have a copy to give you label details.

The Elliotts can be reached at The Enamel Workshop, 128 Church St, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO22 4DE, I know they sell the CD at the shop, but don't know about mail order.

I remember a real bit of Yorkshire Relish. One August Bank Holiday Saturday between 1964-1966. Glorious weather. Roses Match at Headingley and the western terraces in blazing sunshine. The match had started on the Friday and the haplass Lancashire side were bowled out during the day (a certain Fred Trueman had taken 7 wickets for not a lot). Yorkshire had already started their reply and without the loss of toomany wickets had got near the Lancs total.. A young Boycott was playing (and he got a few!) and with some mid afternoon lusty blows from |Trueman and Wilson Yorkshire built up a good lead. Then Lancs had to bat again. By the close of play most of them had been and gone (only noddy Puller seemed to survive). Tont Nicholson got a good bag of wickets... Needless to say Lancs lost on the Monday (no Sunday play then)..... Now that was real YORKSHIRE RELISH steam train journey home just rounded it off!!! Mind you the effects of the sunburn lasted a few days!

Does their daughter Nadine still sing? She had a lovely voice.
