05 Sep 03 - 10:44 AM (#1013347) Subject: Fureys/Flynnon Chicago From: Chris in Wheaton I only recently discovered the Fureys, by listening to FolkScene. I really like their new sound (to me, at least) that gets away from the strings on the early cd that I bought. I am learning their English version of "Steal Away" as well as Linda Healy's Welsh versioh, "Daw Ein Dydd." So ---- I was very surprised to see that the Fureys will be in Chicago at the Irish American Cultural Center on 9/13. That will be a busy weekend, since the Celtic Fest will also be going on in Grant Park - with the great Welsh group Flynnon, as well as Jenny Armstrong, Cherish the Ladies et al. Pray for good weather, Chris yn Wheaton |
