Well, I haven't found the words yet, but found this information:

MY RESISTANCE IS LOW
Music by: HOAGY CARMICHAEL
Lyrics by: HAROLD ADAMSON
Copyright: 1951 (Renewed) Frank Music Corp.
Published: 1951
Song Covers
Artist: Orrin Tucker & His OrchestraM
Chart Date: May, 25 1940 Chart Peak: 14

Now, if the song is copyrighted in 1951, why did they say it charted at 14 for a peak, in 1940? Strange.

BTW, is that Christine Primrose, the Gaelic singer?

If so, LOVED both Aite Mo Ghaoil and S Tu Mo Chuimhne, as well as the Quiet Tradition.

Haven't picked up the more recent recordings. YET! Tapadh leibh!

From memory (thanks to a cover version I remember from about 1965):

You touch my fingertips
And my heart is aglow
You bend to kiss my lips
And I can't let you go
Maybe I should resist
I'm a fool, I know
But at a time like this
My resistance is low

Your eyes are magic
They seem to say
"Come closer, come closer,
My darling, come closer"
Amd somehow I can't keep away

I want to be adored
More than you'll ever know
I'm going overboard
With a capital "O"

Don't know if that's all of it. Now I've unloaded that, maybe there will be some space freed up in my brain for stuff like what day it is and what my mobile phome number is.

That's pretty good, Marje, from memory. According to my Hoagy Carmichael songbook, it's just a couple of words different, a link line before the final verse, and an ending. I've put the changes in Italics.

Words by HAROLD ADAMSON
Music by HOAGY CARMICHAEL

You touch my fingertips
And my heart is aglow
You bend to kiss my lips
And I can't let you go
Maybe I should resist
I'm a fool, I know
But at a time like this
My resistance is low

Your eyes have magic
They seem to say
"Come closer, come closer,
My darling, come closer"
And somehow I can't break away

Can't you see that I want to be adored
More than you'll ever know
I'm going overboard
With a capital "O"

So don't be persistent
Please keep your distance
You know my resistance is low

You varmint, Doug!

Didn't Peter Sarsted's brother Robin have a crack at this one in the 70s?

The song I remember has the lines ........

My resistance is low and you've got me where you want me
And I don't know where I am
I went in like a lion and I came out like a lamb

It might have had something to do with Doris Day
