23 Oct 03 - 09:51 AM (#1040354) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: Dave Bryant Jaqui - Will it always be on a Wednesday now ? John - just use the clicky I posted - You can zoom in all the way to street level by using the + sign next to the little pictures of various size houses on the right underneath the map and you can scroll by clicking on the various arrowheads. I assume you can read a map - or have you had a sex change since I last saw you - ducking and running for cover . . . . . . . . |

24 Oct 03 - 02:42 AM (#1040842) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: jacqui c Hi all Dave - We've changed to Wednesday for at least the winter - if it takes off I'm going to try and persuade Danny to keep it there as it suits people better but in the summer they had Petanque on a Wednesday and got rather busy with that. Maybe they can be persuaded to change their night. (Trust you and Breezy will have the punch-up outside AFTER the session if you both make it - grin) Kevin - thanks for that - I started it, following a suggestion from Tony Crowley that the Woodman would be a good venue. I'm just pleased that it seems to have taken off so well and am really enjoying meeting so may nice people as a result. Jacqui |

See you all there - anyone know if Derek Brown's planning to go ? Breezy, I'll settle for Fiddler's Green at about force 4 on the Beaufort scale. |

03 Nov 03 - 02:02 PM (#1046967) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: McGrath of Harlow Couldn't make it. I've got a snorter of a cold and can only whisper or bellow at present. How did it go, and when is the next one? |
04 Nov 03 - 08:26 AM (#1047574) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: jacqui.c Hi Kevin Sorry to hear you're unwell. Wrap up warm and get better quickly - you were missed and it was commented on. The session went well, but there were a few faces missing for one reason or another, but with one or two new faces who, I hope, will come again. The next one will be on 26.11. Jacqui |
04 Nov 03 - 11:55 AM (#1047704) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: Dave Bryant I think that Harlowpoet must have been to busy supporting various other "establishments" (and probably himself) to get there. |
04 Nov 03 - 01:25 PM (#1047801) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: jacqui c I'm going to send HP a pm suggesting that I could pick him up from whatever location in Hertford for the next session. That's as long as he doesn't mind sharing transport with two daft females. If I can get him there I'm sure there'll be someone to take him home. |
04 Nov 03 - 06:47 PM (#1048060) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: McGrath of Harlow 26th Novenber? That's my birthday. I might possibly be otherwise engaged, but we'll see. |
05 Nov 03 - 05:21 AM (#1048274) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: Dave Bryant As Long as we don't have to have a cake with all the candles - it would be too much of a fire risk, Kevin. |
05 Nov 03 - 05:56 AM (#1048296) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: McGrath of Harlow With your surname, Dave, you should know about fire risks. |
05 Nov 03 - 06:43 AM (#1048308) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: jacqui.c Kevin It would be a shame if you can't make it - you'll miss the rousing chorus of Happy Birthday that we'll sing whether you're there or not! (And the cake!!!) |
05 Nov 03 - 11:08 AM (#1048450) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: Dave Bryant Kevin - My mother's maiden name was actually Mayes - I gather that my parents got fed up with the joke that they should make a good match ! When Linda and I drive up to Chapmore End we go right past the old match factory at Bow - now yuppie flats. |
05 Nov 03 - 11:51 AM (#1048479) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: harlowpoet Sorry I couldn't make it, I remembered I had a doctors appointment back in Harlow, I was then hoping to get a lift from Kevin, but he had a cold as he mentioned earlier.By then it was too late to ring Dave, who'd have already left from London. Jacqui your offer of a lift noted. Ta NB Buntingford next week.I've been trying to keep the thread refreshed for people but it tends to look silly if you keep doing it on your own. |
06 Nov 03 - 04:40 AM (#1049024) Subject: RE: Chapmore End (Hertfordshire) 29.10.03 From: Dave Bryant Simon we picked up Derek on our way up - pity we didn't know that you needed a lift as well. |
