Travelling around in England

Brian and Marion Rodgers (aka "No Worries") are going to be passing through Bradford, Blackpool, Telford, Newport, and then east back to Kent (home) over the next 7 days. We were wondering what folk clubs might be on/near our route, and on which days they run. We're hoping to fit in a few floor spots during our travels, and would be glad of some information

Thanks

Brian

Bradford has the Topic on a thurs night I think, though could be wrong.

Bacca Pipes is in Keighley, 15-20 miles from Bradford.   Thats on a Fri night, or there is The Grove in Leeds, also Fri night.

If any booking agents are lurking about, I would heartily recommend "No Worries" for an extended floor spot.
Whatever the asking price, its worth it for the view of Marions black-leather-mini-skirted-legs alone!!!

(and Brian's legs aint bad either)

Telford - look in cresby.com the Boat at Jackfield hosts an Irish session on Thurs, plus a few things a bit further North East that Ms Lemon goes to round Bishops Castle.
Ones I don't list are Tong (Fri) and Mike Raven's session at market Drayton (he has a Website)
Let us know of any sessions that you go to - or any in my vague area.

The Unicorn folk club isn't at Tong anymore, it's at Edgmond. Link here

Here are a few links for the Bradford area...
BBC Local Radio website - gig guide
Topic-folk-club, Bradford, Thursday.
Bacca Pipes, Keighley, Friday.
You can also find live music of all varieties - from trad jazz through R&B and Blues through to rock and pop - played live in many Bradford pubs on a regular basis.
Quack!

Have a look at Joan from Wigans Folkal Point for news from the North West.

White Lion, Swinton, Manchester. All day Saturday 25th October or any Monday night. Any good to you?

Cheers

Not quite Telford, but within reach there's a session at the Breidden Hotel Middletown on the last Wednesday of the month.
On Thursday there's a session with Tony Weatherall in the Red Lion at Market Drayton.
As mentioned, the Unicorn Folk Club is at the Lion at Edgmond near Newport (was it that Newport you meant?) They have a guest artist next Friday, but you may get a floor spot if you contact Vicky in advance.

I'll second Dead Horses' comments about "No Worries", Brian and Marion are well worth an extended floorspot - even if you're not into black leather miniskirts (it's OK Brian doesn't wear one).
