I need to tell the world about it because it is BRILLIANT! It is based on a Rudall and Rose and has 6 keys. It is really easy to play in all registers and keeps in tune beautifully. Being polymer it will withstand all temperatures dropping on the floor and dunking in your Guinness so I am reliably informed. I even got a free CD of the maker Michael Cronnolly playing one. It has got a lovely tone and is louder than a wooden flute. I am thrilled and would heartily recommend one to anyone thinking of buying a good session flute. Cheers Sarah |

Oh and you can do a good old British Pounds cheque not euros or dollars as it says on the website. It's just a bit worrying that you have to send off the money with no guarantee that you'll get the flute - a bit laid back but it's fine. You can ring them up and chat first. |

Next I made one with both the G and D sticks - they work fine, and cost me about 4 US dollars. The nice thing about making yer own is tuning it like you would expect an expensive instrument to sound. Fancy bits can be added - like the lip rest, the top ferule/cap etc. All these are made from pipe fittings. The sound is BTW very nice for something that costs less than a burger and fries. (: |

My first keyless flute was purchased on e-bay for $35...pvc pipe covered with wood grained contact paper. Intonation was excellent and the tone was quite acceptable. I now have a rosewood one that sounds better...but at 10x the price. It would be fun to make one in G. |
